Counseling Services

Schedule an appointment to meet with a benefit counselor by teleconference or in-person if local.

The Division of Retirement and Benefits offers many options to help you achieve your retirement goals. We are dedicated to working with you to answer your retirement plan questions and prepare you for retirement readiness. You can call us toll-free at (800) 821-2251 or in Juneau at (907) 465-4460 and speak with a highly-trained Retirement Specialist who can answer your questions right over the phone. We also offer individual counseling appointments for a more in-depth view of your personal situation.

While walk-ins are accepted for submitting a retirement application, scheduling an appointment is highly recommended.

Appointments are available via phone or in person.

Schedule a future one-hour phone or in-person counseling appointment that fits your timeframe. These 60-minute appointments are designed to answer specific questions for members planning their upcoming retirement. Counselors will review the details of retirement estimates and health care options and discuss the transition from active or deferred member to retired member.

30-minute in-person (Juneau only) or phone appointments are also available to review and submit forms and documents or to submit a retirement application.

Any member can schedule a teleconference with a benefit counselor using the Online Counselor Scheduler link below, or contact the Member Education Center.

The reception desk is available during business hours to submit or pickup forms, review information, or to have general questions answered.
