Notice of Proposed Changes on Retirement Plans in the Regulations of the Department of Administration

The Division of Retirement and Benefits proposes to adopt regulation changes in Title 2 of the Alaska Administrative Code, dealing with the Alaska retirement system federal tax compliance policy.

Regulations will be adopted for each of the following plans to adopt by reference the Alaska Retirement System Federal Tax Compliance Policy as required by the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, related federal Treasury regulations and other applicable federal law.

2 AAC 37.240 Public Employees’ Deferred Compensation Plan
2 AAC 37.280 National Guard and Naval Militia Retirement System

You may comment on the proposed regulation changes, including the potential costs to private persons of complying with the proposed changes, by submitting written comments to Kathy Lea, Chief Pension Officer at P.O. [Comments may also be submitted through the Alaska Online Public Notice System, by accessing this notice on the system and using the "comment" link.] The comments must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. on August 6, 2015.

The language of the final regulations may be different from that of the proposed regulations. You should comment during the time allowed if your interests could be affected.
