The latest information about the new BEnefits And Retirement System (BEARS) Employer Portal.

Introduction

The Division of Retirement and Benefits is undertaking a major modernization project to enhance its data systems and improve the administration of pension and insurance benefits for members and participating employers. This new system, known as BEARS (Benefits And Retirement System), will deliver secure, timely, accurate, and consistent data—enabling improved customer service and new self‑service tools for on‑demand member support.

The BEARS system, including the Self-Employer Services Portal, is anticipated to launch on August 27, 2027.

Employer

A key component of the BEARS project is the development of an enhanced Employer Self-Services Portal. This portal will streamline processes, strengthen accuracy and security, and support more efficient workflow management for both employers and Division staff.

Leading up to the launch, the Division will provide employers with training and guidance on using the new features. Progress updates, including training opportunities, will be shared in future issues of Employer News and on this webpage.
